PORTLAND, Ore. – COAST today launched its lightest-weight headlamp to date, the 1.1-ounce FL1R.

The 200-lumen FL1R is COAST’s new rechargeable ultra-compact headlamp, made for activities and jobs where size and weight are an important consideration, like running or backpacking, as well as many professional industrial environments where people need light on demand but don’t want to be weighed down

The FL1R has an embedded, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, reducing the weight considerably, and will run for two-and-a-half hours on the high setting and seven hours on the low setting. It also has a red-light mode.

The headlamp also has a lockout feature to avoid having it turn on in a pack or pocket – hold the button for 5 seconds and it will be locked off.

The light is weatherproof and can handle a driving rain, and comes with a clip for attaching to sternum straps or hats, and a headband for regular headlamp fit.
