My husband has had his for under one year and the charger no longer works😣 can we get a new one, sad it doesn’t last very long

I have owned many different head lamp brands. Some have given really good service. I would still be using a Pretzel but it wasn’t an LED. The coast HL8 is a beast! I have been using it for 4 years now. Night fishing, hunting, night work and anything else. Everything is solid and works well. 3 brightness modes, and the ability to spot or flood light. Battery pack can stay on head band or if I am going to wear all night I use power cord extension and put battery pack on belt or jacket pocket.

Is it possible to buy a replacement battery pack, as the one on mine is faulty

  4. :

I just purchased the Coast HL8. I’m still evaluating it but so far it’s great. I would normally wait at least a month before giving a review but just wanted to add this because there is a lot of false advertising. A lot of Web sites, Costco, etc say that at 344 lumens it will last 19 hours and 15 minutes. But according to this site it will actually last 2 hours. I bought mine at Fry’s Electronics and it even implies that on the packaging. Maybe it’s a communication issue with China who makes it and the packaging, but it needs to fixed.

I purchased an HL8 a couple months ago. It is a great unit, however the dimmer switch failed to work properly after owning it for about a month. I sent it in for repair and they replaced it with a brand new light. I am very pleased with their service and would recommend this light to anyone looking to buy it.

I will start this off saying I am an active outdoors man with many needs of having a good headlamp so this year for bowhunting I got so sick of wasting time on those cheap headlamps that you tell yourself will work just fine….so I decided to spend some money to get a good one. I did tons of research and in result the Coast HL8 was my choice. I knew I had something when I opened the box n saw this beast for the first time (amazon purchased) WOW it is built like a tank! So I used the next night on my bowhunt and this thing lights up the forest like you are literally using the head light from a Train!! I had to use the lowest setting cause it is so damn bright which is exactly what I wanted. Also to mention this thing is heavy BUT very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The one complaint I have is that now I know how bright this thing actually is I wish Coast made a red filter lense for it. Buy this lamp I LOVE IT!!!!

I’m one of these people who expects products to function as represented. That alone won’t get positive feedback from me. I’ve purchased numerous Coast headlamps over the years and was impressed to the point of talking about it with their no-questions-asked warranty repair process. Not because they were defective, but accidents do happen and they’ve covered wear and tear without fail. The HL8, however, takes lighting up the night to a new, incredibly unexpected height. This is it folks! Shop for headlamps no further. The first comment from most people, even though it’s not pointed up at them, is, “can you turn your headlamp off?” It is that bright. I spend many hours out in the forest with the raccoons at night. I change rechargeable batteries twice a night. I recently broke the bezel by dropping it on the garage floor. Even though everything still works fine on it, Coast said send it in and they will exchange it. Well, this single visual enhancement item has apparently become so indispensable in my night time activities, that I have been unable to give it up for the week it takes to get the replacement. I think that says it all. Shop around though, because I bought mine at Fry’s Electronics for $65 and I see they’re $100 here. So you might be able to get a better deal.
