there was a problem with my light i drooped it from 3 feet and the lens feel out. so i sent an email and they told me to send it back and they will replace it no questions asked.

Todd, we’re pretty relaxed with our lifetime warranty policy. As long as you physically have the product, we will be able to service it for you.

My response about the “Lifetime Warranty” is… How do you know who the original owner was when there is no way to prove It? Shouldn’t there be a registry for the original owner? I just bought the Polysteel 400 at Lowe’s but will be taking it back for a refund tomorrow because I’m afraid that in the future if the light malfunctions I will be hassled with replacement because of original ownership issues.

I received a Polysteel 400 as a safety recognition award from work a couple of years ago, and didn’t expect much from it. However, I quickly realized how amazing this little flashlight is, and it has become my favorite one to use, while the other assorted collection of flashlights I have sir collecting dust on a shelf, unused. Extremely bright, and the lower power settings are a nice touch when you don’t need the full powered brightness. Also super durable since I use it at home, then take it to work with me at a chemical plant when I’m working nights. It has gotten wet and dropped in water repeatedly, dropped onto cement and metal grating too many times to count, and has even had a 400lb piece of equipment dropped on it accidentally, and it still works, no worse for the wear. It’s small size makes is easily carried in my pocket without feeling like I’m carrying a brick. Just a great, durable, convenient, and super bright flashlight for just about every need and purpose I have. My only disappointment with it is that the 4 AAA batteries don’t last as long as I would like them to. I probably use it more heavily than the average person would, so my experience is probably different than most people, but I seem to be replacing the batteries fairly frequently. With fresh batteries the brightness is almost blinding, and it’s great. But with less than a week of frequent use, the brightness is noticeably dimmer, and within 2 weeks I am usually replacing the batteries. However, I guess that is to be expected with the amount of use it gets and the size of batteries it uses, so if I’m having to replace the batteries frequently, but am getting a great, super-bright flashlight that fits in my pocket and has lasted thru the usage and abuse it’s gotten, I think that’s a fair trade off.

    Stephen, it is true!

I bought a Polysteel 400 a couple of years ago to use at my cottage and I really loved it. Today I saw one on sale at my local hardware store and thought, “Why not have another one. It’s on sale”. The new one has greatly improved specs. More lumens and nearly triple the run time! Is this true?

  7. :

Excellent flashlight which did a very good job right up to the first replacement of the batteries. After that it didn’t work anymore.

  8. :

Great flashlight so far. With fresh batteries it’s awesome, but I feel like after a week or so, of sporadic use it’s not as bright anymore. Wish there was a rechargeable battery pack for it.

  9. :

Great flashlight but my lense comes unscrewed very easily is that normal

I’ve own 4 different coast flashlights and let me just say this one is superb. It’s one of the best flashlights you can get for your money. Don’t waste your money on a super expensive olight or a streamlight. Coast is better. I would highly recommend this light.

Just purchased Polysteel 400 for use on the hill.
This is a superb torch with nice features.
I really like the way the focus stays where you put it even after stowing in pack or pocket.
A really tough well thought out piece of kit with a nice price.

Polysteel for the price is an excellent flashlight, like the adjustable ability and it is as bright as the flashlight I have that takes 3 D batteries.
