1919 Reserve Knives

1919 Reserve Knives

The crashing waves of the Pacific, abundant runs of wild salmon, towering timber—and a man with a great idea. These are the COAST building blocks. In 1919, our founder, Henry W. Brands, fashioned our very first product—a fillet knife with a scoop on the back for cleaning salmon—and sold it by hand along the docks of Oregon’s coastline. Ruggedly built and flawlessly functional, the fillet knife sold as fast as Henry could make them. Next came the scribner’s knife which timbermen up and down the coast carried to mark trees for felling. One hundred years later, one thing hasn’t changed: COAST builds top-quality knives with an unyielding sense of purpose.
